The Challenge
North Idaho On Site Sheds needed more than a clean brochure site. The business sells custom buildings that are planned around a real property, real access constraints, North Idaho snow loads, and a long list of customer-specific choices. A static gallery or generic quote form would not show the value of that process.
The site also needed to compete locally across shed use cases, towns, neighborhoods, guides, services, and service areas. This had to work like a Spokane-CDA SEO campaign, a sales funnel, and a business dashboard at the same time: useful pages for Google, a strong reason for customers to engage, and one place for the owner to manage leads, quotes, pricing, builds, invoices, reviews, and marketing visibility.
What We Built
NerdBrainz built a single production growth platform with four connected layers: a fast public marketing site, a custom browser-based shed configurator, a CMS/admin and CRM platform, and a tracking system for SEO, Google Ads, social media, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and custom reporting dashboards. The result is an owned sales system, not a third-party configurator embed or disconnected brochure site.
SEO Content Engine
327 live pages covering services, guides, service areas, shed sizes, permits, and FAQs.
3D Configurator
A customer-facing shed builder that turns design interest into qualified estimate requests.
Ads + Social Tracking
Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, social campaign tracking, and analytics events tied to real lead actions.
CRM + Reporting
Leads, estimates, customer records, invoices, configurator presets, analytics, and custom dashboards in one workflow.
The Configurator Is the Centerpiece
The largest piece of the project is the custom 3D shed configurator at /build-your-shed. It was built from the ground up as a custom 3D product experience, with a real product catalog, live pricing, saved shed versions, and an estimate flow that gives the owner a clear picture of what the customer wants before the first sales conversation.
This is the kind of custom software that can make a local business feel bigger, clearer, and easier to buy from. The customer is not just filling out a contact form. They are building the shed, seeing the price move, choosing real options, saving versions, and sending a complete estimate request tied to the exact structure on screen.
For NerdBrainz, this is the strongest part of the case study because it shows what a Spokane or Coeur d'Alene business can do when the website becomes the sales tool. A configurator like this helps buyers understand the product, raises the quality of leads, gives the owner better sales context, and creates a memorable reason to choose the business over a competitor.
A serious sales tool, not a toy
Customers can build a shed that looks like the one they actually want to buy, then send that exact configuration to the owner with price, options, views, and contact details attached.
Real product choices and live pricing
The builder handles model, size, roof style, foundation, siding, colors, doors, windows, porches, lean-tos, roll-up doors, lofts, shelves, workbenches, framing options, and quote-only upgrades.
Presets built from real projects
Instead of forcing every visitor to start from a blank box, the owner can publish proven shed layouts and let customers customize from real-world starting points.
Quote-ready handoff
Send My Build connects the visual design to estimate follow-up, saved configurations, printable build details, downloadable views, CRM intake, and reporting.
What the Shed Builder Handles
The point was not to make a pretty 3D demo. The point was to turn a complicated custom building process into a guided buying experience that helps customers choose, understand, save, and send the right build.
Configurator Proof
These screens show why this is a serious piece of custom sales software. It supports the parts customers care about before they call, and it gives the owner better information after they send the build.

Model, Size, and Starting Presets
Buyers can choose the building style, width, length, wall height, and a saved starting layout before they get lost in small options.

Real Project Presets
Preset configurations let the owner package proven shed designs for Bonners Ferry, Plummer, Post Falls, CDA, and other local buyers.

Porches, Lean-Tos, and Add-Ons
The workflow supports high-value upgrades and shows the customer how each addition affects the build and the price.

Doors, Windows, and Wall Layouts
Customers place openings visually instead of describing them in a vague quote form, which creates a cleaner sales conversation.

Bigger Building Packages
The builder handles more than simple backyard sheds. Lean-tos, transoms, roll-up doors, and quote-only upgrades help sell shops, garages, and specialty buildings.

Framing and Skeleton Views
Skeleton mode shows the structure behind the finished exterior, which is especially valuable for premium builds and practical property planning.

Foundation and Floor Choices
The configurator connects visual framing to foundation decisions, floor materials, joist spacing, insulation, anchors, and site requirements.

Dimensions That Reduce Guesswork
Measurement overlays and opening labels help customers understand size, wall layout, door clearance, and how the building fits their use case.

Interior Planning
Interior, loft, shelving, workbench, and wall accessory choices turn the builder into a planning tool for storage, workshops, cabins, and office sheds.

Cutaway and Split Views
Cutaway views help explain foundations, crawlspaces, interior layout, and structural decisions that are hard to sell through flat photos alone.

Printable Build Details
The build details modal gives the customer and owner a plain-language summary of the model, price, dimensions, materials, framing, and upgrades.

Downloadable Views and Estimate Assets
Generated front, side, rear, angled, and plan views can be downloaded and attached to estimate conversations so the lead is easier to qualify.

Local SEO at Real Scale
The public site was designed as a local SEO system from the beginning. This is the same kind of work Spokane and Coeur d'Alene businesses need when they want more qualified calls from Google: specific pages for specific buyer intent, local content for real service areas, useful guides that answer buyer questions, and a structure that helps both search engines and customers understand what the business does.
The live sitemap contains 327 indexable pages, including 75+ service pages, 75+ planning guides, and 50+ service-area pages. Coeur d'Alene and North Idaho are front and center, but the strategy is built around the broader Spokane-CDA market: local relevance, service depth, guide content, internal links, structured data, strong calls to action, and clear conversion paths into the shed builder and estimate flow.
The SEO work is not just a pile of blog posts. It is a content architecture for how real customers search: by building type, by use case, by location, by size, by planning question, and by readiness to request an estimate. That matters for local businesses because the strongest leads often come from people who searched for a very specific problem and landed on a page that answered it clearly.
- 75+ service pages targeting high-intent shed uses like garages, shops, she sheds, storage sheds, ADUs, cabins, workshops, and specialty outbuildings.
- 75+ SEO guide articles answering planning questions around permits, foundations, layouts, storage, snow load, materials, sizes, and North Idaho property constraints.
- 50+ service-area pages built around Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Sandpoint, Rathdrum, Athol, Bonners Ferry, Spokane, and nearby Inland Northwest communities.
- Structured data, internal links, sitemap coverage, and crawler-friendly content built for Google, local search, map-pack relevance, and answer engines.
- Conversion paths that connect informational traffic to the builder, estimate forms, phone actions, Google Ads attribution, and CRM follow-up.

Why This Matters for Spokane and CDA Businesses
Most local businesses treat web design, SEO, Google Ads, social media, analytics, and follow-up as separate problems. That creates gaps: traffic without tracking, leads without follow-up, ads without conversion clarity, and content that does not match how customers actually search.
This project shows the NerdBrainz model in one place. The website gives the business a premium first impression. The service pages and SEO articles build search visibility. The configurator gives customers a reason to engage. The Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking, CRM, and reporting dashboards show what is working. For Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, and North Idaho companies, that is the difference between a website expense and a measurable growth system.
CMS, Admin, and Business Operations
Behind the public site is a custom CMS, admin platform, SQL database, bucket image storage, and full CRM. The owner can manage public content, pricing, reviews, customers, estimates, build orders, invoices, configurator presets, analytics, and reporting from one system instead of stitching together separate tools.
Ads, Analytics, Reporting, and CRM
The configurator's “Send My Build” flow does the hard work after the customer finishes designing. It ties the selected shed configuration to a qualified lead, generates build views and estimate materials, sends transactional emails, creates recovery paths, and moves the work into the owner's operational pipeline.
NerdBrainz also set the business up for paid growth and attribution: Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, Facebook Pixel, social media campaign tracking, and custom reporting dashboards are tied to real lead actions instead of vanity traffic. When the client invests in Google Ads or social media management, the CRM and dashboards can show which campaigns are creating estimate opportunities.
For Spokane and Coeur d'Alene businesses, this is the difference between having a website and having a lead system. SEO pages create search visibility, ads and social campaigns create demand, the configurator turns attention into intent, and the CRM keeps follow-up organized.
