The Challenge
The Jada Bascom Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing bone marrow donor enrollment — with the ambitious goal of registering one million donors worldwide. Their founder, a passionate advocate but completely non-technical, needed a digital platform that could:
- Establish credibility and tell the foundation's story with impact
- Connect potential donors to bone marrow registries anywhere in the world
- Accept donations seamlessly with transparent impact statements
- Provide educational resources for K-12 educators teaching about bone marrow donation
- Support volunteer recruitment and registration drive coordination
- Leverage $10,000/month in Google Ad Grants to drive awareness
The foundation had no existing website, no digital infrastructure, and no technical staff. They needed a web development partner who could handle everything — from domain registration to Google Workspace to ad grant applications — and build something that matched the scale of their mission.
What We Built
The original contract called for approximately 15 pages with a basic CMS and donation integration. We delivered a full-scale digital platform with 50+ pages, enterprise-grade security, and a suite of tools that went far beyond the original scope — because the mission demanded it.

Find Your Registry — Anywhere in the World
We built an interactive registry finder that connects potential donors to 55+ bone marrow registries across the globe. Users select their country and are matched to their nearest registry with direct links to sign up. The data visualization tracks registry clicks from around the world in real time, turning every site visit into a measurable step toward the foundation's goal.
This feature is the centerpiece of the site — it transforms passive awareness into direct action, regardless of where a visitor lives.
21 Pages of Educator Resources
Not in the original contract. We built a comprehensive K-12 health education curriculum covering bone marrow donation for every grade level — from kindergarten through 12th grade. These pages are specifically designed to be discovered by educators through Google Ad Grants campaigns, creating a pipeline from classroom awareness to registry enrollment.

Frictionless Giving with Givebutter
We set up and integrated Givebutter for donation processing with:
- A floating donate button accessible from every page
- A header donate button with modal overlay
- A dedicated /donate page with embedded donation form
- A goal progress bar showing campaign momentum
- Impact statements showing what each donation amount funds
- Full donation event tracking in analytics
$10K/Month in Free Advertising
Google offers qualifying nonprofits up to $10,000 per month in free Google Ads spend. We handled the entire process:
- Applied for and secured Google for Nonprofits status
- Qualified and set up the Google Ad Grant account
- Configured Google Ads campaigns with conversion tracking
- Documented a CTR optimization strategy to maintain grant compliance
- Connected everything to GA4 for performance measurement
This single deliverable — not in the original contract — represents $120,000/year in advertising value.
50+ Pages of Mission-Driven Content
Beyond the curriculum and registry finder, we built:
- A homepage with hero section and mission statement
- About page with foundation history and team
- Steps to Marrow campaign pages telling the donation journey
- Heroes and Stories section for donor and recipient narratives
- News and Events sections managed through the CMS
- Volunteer resources and registration drive toolkit
- Legal pages (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Accessibility Statement)
All content is managed through Payload CMS, giving the non-technical founder a clean, intuitive admin panel to publish updates without developer help.
Enterprise Infrastructure for a Nonprofit
We treated the foundation's site with the same rigor as a commercial platform:
Analytics: Full GA4 implementation, Google Tag Manager, custom event tracking for registry clicks, donations, and form submissions, bot detection and filtering, impact events tracking with geographic data, Meta Pixel with consent management.
Security: HTTPS enforcement via Cloudflare, security headers (CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options), bot protection and rate limiting, GDPR-compliant cookie consent, role-based access control, login rate limiting (5 attempts / 10-minute lockout), password hardening (12+ character minimum).
